the Two Truths "Buddhism talks about the two truths: conventional reality and ultimate reality. This concept is not only a Buddhist. It is an epistemological approach common in various Indian schools of the past. example, the followers of Samkhya school, which is not Buddhist, explain reality in terms of twenty-five classes of phenomena. They claim that personal identity [Sanskrit: purusha, Tibetan: kye-bu] and the primary substance [in Sanskrit: prakriti, in Tibetan: rang-zhine] are part of the ultimate truth, while the remainder of twenty-three phenomena are manifestations or expressions of this underlying reality.
However, what is unique within the Mahayana, especially in the school of Madhyamaka or Middle Way, is that conventional and ultimate truth are not seen as two unrelated things, as two independent entities. Rather they are seen as two different prospects of the world. " HH The Dalai Lama
