The Venezuelan population is suffering from lack of energy and has lived in the dark in the past 18 months.
Caracas. While Venezuela is at imminent risk of being left without electricity due to the combination of drought and non-construction of generation sources other than hydropower, the executive of Hugo Chávez has committed millions of euros to buy and finance facilities generation were the main beneficiaries in Nicaragua and Bolivia.
After six major faults that have left more than half the country in the dark in the past 18 months, the Bolivarian president has recognized that the electrical system has serious deficiencies, although they have been awarded to the phenomenon of El Nino and drought it generated in 2009, which has resulted in a 20% reduction in the levels of reservoirs.
The Executive has set the goal of reducing by 20% in energy consumption and has therefore issued a series of decrees, so far, no significant results. Experts blame the energy crisis improvisation and remember that Chavez government rejected a plan to avoid crisis.
