Lama on the day of Khapa Tshong

[Tribute to Tsongkhapa, who quickly provides all forms of accomplishments!]

What is now known as the "Day of Tsongkhapa" is actually the celebration of 'parinirvana' or enlightenment of the great Lama Tsongkhapa (1357 - 1419) whose birth and enlightened activity were prophesied by the Buddha himself Shakyamuni of our era, who said in the Root Tantra of Manjushri "after my lessons will be diluted, Manjushri appear in the Land of Snow (Tibet) and perform the works of a visionary."

Lama Tsongkhapa is the founder of the Gelugpa lineage, and is considered an emanation of Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom, who also wrote Chenmo the Lam Rim, or Gradual Path to Enlightenment, texts, teachings, meditations and instructions that follow today.

From the point of view of spiritual practice, this day is very significant and a great opportunity to generate positive energy. The conclusion we make is a reminder of the importance of spiritual teachers who lead us and bestow their blessings from the Buddha's time to date without interruption.

On this day offerings are often made and engage in the practice of Guru Puja (Lama Chopa). Also, in the great monasteries of Sera, Ganden, Drepung, Kopan, etc., comprehensive offerings are light lamps, candles and other extensive offerings.

As our spiritual director Lama Zopa Rinpoche Kyabje "Usually we use a lot of Christmas lights in our celebrations and festivals. Should provide as many lights as possible to create the causes of lighting lights offer Lama Tsongkhapa, the fields of merit, and others. So many Christmas lights can be used, provided they do not go to burn places of meditation! But they can burn your ego.
